Mindy M. Blackford received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Northeastern State University College of Optometry, Tahlequah, OK in 2006. Her internships emphasized the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, emergency care, and pre-operative and post-operative care. A native of northeastern Missouri, Dr. Blackford received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Truman State University, Kirksville, MO. Dr. Blackford has special interest in primary care including the fitting of contact lenses, pediatric and children's vision care, Lasik pre-and post-procedure care and the treatment of eye disease. She is fully licensed to prescribe therapeutic pharmacological medication and treat ocular disease and emergencies.
Dr. Blackford is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Missouri Optometric Association. She serves on the Missouri Optometric Association board as a Trustee for the Northeast Society. A member of the Kirksville Jaycees, Dr. Blackford enjoys reading, spending time with family and horseback riding.
